I think in the race to get 'stars' or 'points'   ..... people often dump answers (some correct, some not) and don't go back to see if they are asked for clarification !    'round-n-'round

As an M.D. , I can tell you Melody is quite correct.   You'll need a LOT of math in the medical field.  We calculate a lot of things based on body weight (switching between kg and lbs), BMI, pH, dosages, concentrations, flow rates, and a host of physiologic equations.....you WILL 'off' someone if you make a mistake.....Keep at the MATH!!!

There is 2 sides to this. If people aren't happy with their answers they should politely ask for more explanation. I think that half the guests dump their question and don't even come back to look at the answers!

Can you go back and explain how you got the equation for a line about 3 questions below??

3x - 14 =  -6 - 2x      Start by addind 2x to both sides

5x - 14 =  -6              Now add 14 to both sides

5x  =  - 6  + 14

5x  =   8                    Now divide both sides by 5

x     = 8/5

How am I doing?

2 (4/7)   =   8/7     then use calculator to divide 8 by 7 to get    1.142857

3/2  /  9/5     Just flip the bottom one over and MULTIPLY

3/2  x  5/9  =  15/18 = 5/6

3/2 divide by 9/5

= 5/6
