3 ^ (4b) = 9 ^ (b + 3)

4b * lg3 = (b + 3) * lg9

4b * lg3 = b * lg9 + 3 * lg 9

b * (4 * lg3 - lg9) = 3 * lg9

I believe that you thought that you entered  1 + 0 .0089  but you actually entered  1 + 0.089  for each of the problems.

A = (a + b) * h / 2

h = 2A / (a + b) = 2 * 60 cm² / (12 + 8) cm

x=3 you just divide both by 4 then the 4's make 1x or just x and then 12 divided by 4 is three. You drop down both the x as well as the equal sign and get the answer: x=3
