When  x  =  8

33(8)^2 - 24(8) + 635  =  2555

Not  B

Note that when we put 0 into the function we get -6  as the last term.....  and (0,-6)  is on the graph

And like the first problem.....the y values as we move from left to right  decrease and increase again......so....the parabola turns upward....this means that the lead term is positive...so the correct answer is one of the last two

Put   -2  into the third function

5(-2)^2  + 4(-2) -6   =  20   - 8 - 6  =  6

So....(-2, 6)  is on this graph.....but we have that (-2,0)  is on the graph

So...the last function must be correct

Note

4(-2)^2  + 5(-2) - 6  =  16 - 10 - 6  =  0

So.... (-2, 0)  is on this graph....si....it must be the correct choice

Based on my first answer, NSS, see if you can do 2....it is similar......

1.   We could do some math here.....but.....using logic is better

Now...think about this......

For the second one.....the vertex  is  (10, 60)

The seconds are on the x axis and the speed is on the y axis.....so.......

 It takes 10 seconds for the car to reach 60 mph

In the form

ax^2  +  bx  + c

The x coordinate of the vertex   is given by    -b / [ -2a ]

So we have

-2x^2  + 8x  - 18

So......b = 8   and   a  = -2

So.......the x coordinate of the vertex  is   [ -8 ] / [ 2 * -2 ]  =  -8/-4  =  2

And the axis of symmetry has the same value  ⇒     x  =  2

We could find the y value of the function by  putting 2 back into it, but we don't have to in this case

The first answer is the only one that makes sense

I had my cursor over it, the cursor just didnt show up in my screenshot. my screenshot was taken when my cursor was over the drop-down menu, it gets cut off when reaching the bottom of the calculator's designated rectangle. why does this happen?

It appears that it is  ( 50, 150 )  =  (h, k )    

So....the form is

y =  a (x - h)^2 +  k  =  a(x - 50)^2  +  150   

Note  .... "a"  =  - 3/ 50

However.........the second function  is only defined for (1, inf )

Note  that if let x = -2, the first function is

sqrt   ( [-2 + 1 ] / [ -2 -1] )  =  sqrt ( -1 / -3 )  =  sqrt (1/3)

But....in the second function we have

sqrt  [ -2 + 1 ]  / sqrt [ -2  - 1 ]  =  sqrt [ -1] / sqrt [ -3]  and the numerator/denominator are both non-real
