Thanks, CPhill!
Yes you did !!! Go back and look.....I gave you some points !!!!
Thanks!i didnt know it was that easy! Thanks fir the help!
thumbs up from me!
....And you did it all with no help from any "pictures," either !!!!
Pretty easy, once you saw it, huh???
Very good !!!!
I solved your question, Chris.
I GOT IT!she went over 1/6 of a cup!am i correct CPhill !
How did you solve it, rosala? Did you think OUTSIDE of the box?
OK rosala.......how much did she go over if she used 4/6 of a cup and only needed 1/2 (or 3/6) of a cup ????
Thanks, Chris! And thanks, rosala! I just thought it back and forth, and I read it millions of times. And that's how I think I got the answer. But, thanks, CPhill!
Good job DS!
Btw CPhill i too was thinking the same answer but just got a lil confused!
You're correct DS......7*pi*y^2 would be the answer for the area of 7 circles !!!
good job !!!
So , i know menatlly that 2/3 is more than 1/2 of a cup but for a proof lets check
1*3/2*3= 3/6
2*2/3*2 = 4/6
so 4/6 or 2/3 is greater!
Think about this guys.....what's the "formula" for the area of a circle with a radius of "r" ???
What would be the way to find out the area of 7 of these circles???
I estimate that it is the area of 7 circles.
I used the calculator.
{piy=-(((sqrt(2)*x)/sqrt(7))), piy=((sqrt(2)*x)/sqrt(7))}
OK......she needed only 1/2 of a cup......but she used 2/3 of a cup.....is 2/3 larger or smaller than 1/2???
What's the answer??? (rosala....you were close to the answer, but you made a small mistake...)
CPhill im a lil confused in this one!
yes that is used to represent pie!
First of all, is this π pi?
Your Welcome!
Yes. I will go at it right now.
The answer is x=1.3, or x=(13/10)
Yes your right CPhill!i think theres a problem in the question only!
Oh. I did not pay attention to that. Thanks for the right answer!
No DragonSLayer your answer is wrong , not a single being (even if its the fastest runner of the world) can run 10 kilometers per second!
According to me i think the answer is " 10 miles per minute " ! Becoz this is the most accurate given option which has a matching between the time and the speed of the runner!
