Multiply both the numerator and the denominator by the conjugate of the denominator.

The conjugate of  1 - i  is  1 + i.

              [ (1 + i) / (1 - i) ]  ·  [ (1 + i) / (1 + i) ]

--->        [ (1 + i) ·(1 + i) ]  /  [ (1 - i) · (1 + i) ]
