$$11.9-5.4$$
How did you get 6.5 anyway?
Thank you thank you! So thankful!
DS, going on from what Chris posted, all you have to do is combine like terms and solve for x:
x - 5.4 + x = 11.9
2x - 5.4 = 11.9
2x = 17.3
x = 8.65...
1st day, x - 5.4 --> 8.65 - 5.4 = 3.25 inches.
2nd day, x --> 8.65 inches.
NinjaDevo, can I help you with the design and update of this please? Melody said that it was fine.
CPhill, I would rather have the answer to the math problem than the riddles.
Wow! That is...AWESOME!!!! Good answer CPhill!
Actually...it's undefined.......to see why, note that
6/2 = 3 because 3 x 2 = 6
But what is 10/0 ???
It can't be 0, because that would imply that 0 x 0 = 10....which is impossible.
In fact, 0 x anything can't be anything other than 0 !!!
This is why we can't divide by 0.
THe answer will always be 0.
$${\frac{{\mathtt{7}}}{{\mathtt{0}}}} = {\mathtt{0}}$$
-2[3x-1/4(8x-2)] = distribute the -1/4 across the terms in the parentheses
-2[3x -2x + 1/2] = combine like terms in the brackets
-2 [x +1/2] = didtribute the -2 across the terms in the brackets
-2x - 1

I set this type of problem up a little differently from Alan. Let 3 gallons of the 40% solution be reperesented by 3(.40). And let the amount of added 100% solution be represented by 1x. And let the amount of the resulting 90% solution be represented by (3 + x)(.90)....so we have......
3(.40) + 1x = (3 + x)(.90) simplify
1.2 + x = 2.7 +.9x combine like terms
.1x = 1.5 divide both sides by .1
x = 15 gallons
And that's the amount of 100% solution that should be added.
I see Harry Potter! Also, I'm glad you chose animals for the theme...makes it even more fun and humurous with all the furry creatures!! Also, I hope to answer more questions...but don't worry, I won't be answering as many questions in a little more than a month!
I suspect that the questioner meant that angle TUV is bisected by UW.....and I suspect that he/she wants to know the measure of TUV.....and as Alan stated, it = 106 degrees.
Just a guess.
Yes, square root it.
so i square root the variance?
6.4E-9
This means 6.4 x 10^-9
Calculate the mean first and then the standard deviation. Then:
2 standard deviations from the mean means...mean + 2*s.d. & mean - 2*s.d (Note, both + and -).
3, 4, & 5 s.d. are computed similarily by replacing 2* with 3, 4, or 5*.
Oh, yes, for the standard deviation...after you divide, you end up with the variance. So, you have to do the square root to find the deviation.
For the mean, add all the values listed and divide by the # of values.
For the median, place the values in order from least to greatest and find the middle term. Simply find the middle term.
For the mode, find the value that appears the most in that set.
You can do this, too, Nataszaa!! It may be tedious work, but it's good practice!!
For the mean, all you have to do is add all the numbers and divide by the # of values listed (in this case, 12).
For the standard deviation, subtract each of the values by the mean and square them. Then, add all the results and divide by 12.
You can do this Nataszaa!!
16, 91, 03, 80, 10, 80, 64, 93, 11, 22, 09, 27, 98, 17, 76
Numbers that are between 01 and 15 are 03, 10, & 11 (in that order).
A. 3, 10, 11.
Since you are looking for 1st and 2nd, it would be 10*9 = 90 ways.
