Someone's playing games with me; the base CD was 38 and now is 32.

MN = 57        MO = 25          MR = 28.5            OR = 3.5

2L = 6w

L = 3w

w * 3w = 243

3w^2 = 243

I find CPhill's method to be very clever, so I'll use and simplify this method even more.

MN = 63        MO = 25         MR = 31.5        NO = 38        OR = 6.5        AM = 12.5

Important: Triangles ABO and OXY are similar.

Eureka!   If AB = MO then XY = OR

XY = 6.5 inches          

there are (2010-2)/2+1=1005 circled red, and (2010-5)/5+1=402 circled blue, and there are (2010-10)/10+1=201 circled both blue and red, so

1005+402-201=$\boxed{1206}$ are circled once

4.2x5 = 21 hours per week for Shara

7/40 day  * 24 hr/day * 5 days = 21 hrs per week for Shara

7/80 wk   x 7 day/week  x 24 hr/day= 14 .7 hrs per week for Saul

You did do something wrong 

Shara works 5 days a week so it should be 4.2*5 but you did 4.2*7 

If it were SOLID it would be made of   8 x 8 x 8  cubes  = 512

   to make a hollow shell you have to remove a 6 x 6 x 6 core = 216

512 - 216 = 296 cubes remain

9x² + 6x + m  =  (3x)² + 2(3x) + m

Now we can substitute  a  for  3x  like this:

a² + 2a + m

Now we don't have to worry about the coefficient of  9  on the first term....and so  m  is half the coefficient of the middle term squared.

m  =  ((1/2) * 2)^2   =   1^2   =   1

Check:

9x² + 6x + 1   =   (3x + 1)(3x + 1)   =   (3x + 1)²
