Ok my answer for b was wrong and I have to admit it was a very silly mistake on my part. I answered 42 which would have been correct if they asked how many she bought with 1/3 of her remaining money but I forgot to add the amount she bought at the start if I had I would have gotten 50, Sorry again for the incorrect answer and I hope this is the correct answer.

Thank you for asking me specifically but as sparkling water said, you don't need to ask for a certain person. 

I'm not quite sure how to approach this problem but this is my best attempt: so each cupcake costs twice as much as a sardine pie, therefore c=2s (c represents cupcake and s represents sardine pie) so the cost of 2 cupcakes and 8 sardine pies is the same as the cost of 12 sardine pies. She then spent 3/4 of her remaining money which is 3/4 of the 4/7 left. This amount is the same as 1/7 of the original amount. The question says that pandan cakes cost 4.50 more than cupcakes but gives no clue as to the other prices. This leaves me at a dead end. You could instead change to amount of sardine pies into cupcakes so the cost of 2 cupcakes and 8 sardine pies is the same as the cost of 6 cupcakes but this still doesn't help us. 

Could someone else try this question? I am new to this website and I do not have a great knowledge of maths so someone else here might be able to help.

This my attempt at (b) ok so in a we found that 1/10 of her money could buy 14 erasers, its says with 1/3 of her remaining money she bought more erasers after spending 1/10 she had 9/10 left. 1/3 of 9/10 is 3/10 presuming she spent that 1/3 on just erasers with no change then

1/10=14

3/10=14×3

=42

Hi Guest! Think of it as an algebra sum but instead of x and y we have pencils (p) and erasers (e) and p=2e (pencils cost double the amount of an eraser) so 

1/10 of her money=8e+3p since p=2e

=8e+3(2e)

=8e+6e

=14e 

So the answer to (a) is 14

Hey Ticon! So if Jim has 123 multiply it by 2 to get the amount Andrew has 123×2=246 then multiply by 3 to get the amount Robert has 246×3=738 add all the numbers together to get 123+246+738=1107

Hi guest! I have thought about this question for a bit and since it's says in the first ratio that ad=5 but then it says in the second one that ad=3 it has to be something divisible by 3 AND 5, it says to find the smallest perimeter so ad has to be the lcm of 3 and 5 which is 15, in the first ratio 15 is divided by 3 to get 5 therefore ab has also been divided by 3 so ab=6, applying the same logic to the other ratios 15 was divided by 5 to get 3 therefore cd was also divided 5. If ad=ab then we get

ab=6

bc=15

cd=20

ad=15

Add these together to get 56.

Could someone check this? Idk if I have explained it well
