I can't be sure from the limited information in your question, but perhaps you are thinking of something like the following:

If so, then resolve forces horizontally and vertically:

Horizontal:

T1cos(15°) = T2cos(10°) 

Vertical:

T1sin(15°)+T2sin(10°) = 300

You now have two equations in two unknowns, so you can solve for T1 and T2.

You didn't give the units for the weight. If you meant the 300 to represent a mass, you will have to multiply it by g, the gravitational acceleration.

Edit:  I've just noticed there is a degree symbol (°) attached to T2 in my picture!  This is a misprint and should be ignored.

Thank you for the congrats. MCI Is one of the mutable side effects that occurs after a cure for CDD. This is bad, but along with the nausea it helps to prevent re-infection.

There is no need. I have a special mixture of NaClO₃ that produces ozone to k**l the germs and also generates oxygen to help with breathing in hostile environments. A chemist with CDD formulated it for me.

Here's another way to do this without simultaneous equations.....

Call the time on the bicycle "x".....then the time walking was (6-x)

And....rate times time = distance

So the amount of time on the bike times its rate plus the amount of time walking times that rate = total distance.

40x + 4(6-x)  = 186

40x + 24 - 4x = 186   simplify

36x = 162      divide both sides by 36

x = 4 + 1/2 hrs = 4 hrs 30 minutes

And that's the time on the bike

Point "A" could only have a symmetric point  about a diagonal whose slope was 1. (In other words, the point (8, -2) would have to lie on the rectangle.....it doesn't).
