Sorry I haven't posted in a while. My teacher has been giving me loads of homework.

So far, I've got most of the problem. All I'm confused on is how to lay out 6-(a-9).

hes right. Use the pythogorean theorem. a squared plus b squared equals c squared. In this case, it would be a squared plus 64 equals= 169 The remaining leg would be would be 10.2 inches long

All you have to do is set these problems up in an equation and add them all up. To get mix numbers to improper fractions all you do is multiply the denominator by the number in front, add the numerator to that number, then put it all over the denominator. So for example 2 1/2 would be (2*2) +1 all over 2 so 5/2

1 1/3 + 3/4 + 1 1/4 + 1 1/4 + x = 8

4/3 + 13/4 +x = 8

16/12 +39/12 + x = 8

54/12+x=8

x= (96-54)/12

x= 42/12 = 3 1/2

I have tried over and over again to try and graph it but in the end it doesn't work.

Part of the question states to create a graph using the values from (c) from 0 to 12, but as I replace (c) with numbers from 0 to 12, I end up with straight horizontal line across the graph.

a) the product is even so we know we have either an EO or EE pair. Of those only the EO pairs give an odd sum.

so the conditional probability Pr[odd sum |even product]= (#EO pairs)/(#EO pairs + #EE pairs) = 16/(6+16) = 16/24 = 2/3

b) the sum is even here so we are looking at the EE and the OO pairs and we want to know how many of those the product is odd. The product being odd means it's only the OO pairs.

so the conditional probability Pr[odd product |even sum] = (#OO pairs)/(#EE pairs + #OO pairs) = 6/(6+6) = 1/2
