Note......the cos (x)   = -1/2    at   x =   120° + n360°  and at  240° + n360°  where n is an integer

So......

2x  = 120° +n 360°  and at  240° + n360°    divide both sides by 2

x  =    60° + n180°  and at  120° + n180°  where n is an integer  .....and this is the general solution

The other moderators are fine the way they are. However, for you, Melody, there is something I’d like you to do differently. I would like you to change the way you present my Valentine's greeting this year.    Last year’s Valentine was kind of “ho hum,” not much spirit. It was just plain, bland. It was so bland it didn’t even exist.

This year, I would like a post with heart-felt romance when you ask me to be your Valentine.   It doesn’t need to be too over-the-top, just give it more spirit and sincerity.  

Here’s an example:

To my dearest Nauseated, I beseech thee from the bottom of my heart to be my Valentine this year. Heart-felt pleas, with pretty please and sugars on top.    :)

You can use this or write your own. You have more than 3 weeks to compose a glorious Valentine greeting. That’s long enough to make it a spare time project.

The diagonal of a square is always  sqrt(2)  times as long as the side of the square....so..

So .....angles A + B + C + D  = 360°    (1)

A =  2 times angle B →   B  = A/2

A =  4 times angle C →   C  = A/4

A =8 times angle D →   D = A/8

So....substituting into (1)

A + A/2 + A/4 + A/8  = 360°   get a common denominator

[8A + 4A + 2A + A] / 8 = 360°       simplify the left side

15A / 8 =   360°      multiply both sides by 8

15A  =  2880°     divide both sides by 15

A = 192°

So....D  = A/8  = 192° / 8     =   24°    (E)
