Just find the number of seconds in 1 day and then multiply:

24 X 60 X 60 X 123,456,789=10,666,666,569,600=1.07 X 10^13 miles per day.

Multiply both sides by 2*5, expand the bracketed terms and simplify.

Multiply both sides by 3 to get

4(x + 2) = 3(x - 1)  Expand the bracketed terms

4x + 8 = 3x - 3    Subtract 3x from each side

x + 8 = -3    Subtract 8 from each side

x = -11

.

The 1/2 a is common to both sides.

sin(a - b) = sin(a)cos(b)-sin(b)cos(a)  so

sin(pi/2 - pi/n) = sin(pi/2)cos(pi/n) - sin(pi/n)cos(pi/2) = cos(pi/n)  (because sin(pi/2) = 1 and cos(pi/2) = 0)

csc(pi/n) = 1/sin(pi/n) so the left hand side of the original equality (ignoring the 1/2 a) reduces to cos(pi/n)/sin(pi/n) which is just cot(pi/n) i.e. the left-hand side reduces to the right-hand side.

Since the x^2 terms in numerator and denominator cancel, and 8 divided by 2 is 4, you are left with 4y
