If so I'll show you my method of solving these types of problems.

Instead of thinking of it as money I think of the pennies and nickels as a value of .01 and .05, respectively. The total amount will take the value of 2.70.

So in order to solve a problem like this you need a system.

Let "p" be pennies and "n" be nickels.

If the total amount of pennies and nickels have a value of 2.70 and there are 54 more pennies than nickels you'll get a system like this:

n + 54 = p

n(0.05) + p(0.01) = 2.70

Now I think I should leave the rest to you. If you don't know systems let me know.

Since the common ratio is 3, therefore the 12th term divided by the 10th term should be: 3 X 3=9.

a(12)=5(3)^12-1=885,735

a(10)=5(3)^10-1=98,415

885,735/98,415 =9

-    Simplify the 4^2 and (2x3)x1 to get:

16/4 + 12 - 6

-    16/4 equals 4 so put that baby in:

4 + 12 - 6

Do you remember input-output problems? That's exactly what they are!

They are laid out like this: f(x)=(any sort of combination can go here)

Let's show you an example: f(x)=4x-6

Let's say x=3.

Substitute it into the problem.

f(3)=4(3)-6

f(3)=12-6

f(3)=6

1.9% can be written as .019 as a  decimal

Times this decimal by the total or starting number

.019*1000=19

the anser is 19

1.9%*1000 = 19
