When we divide something there are three numbers, you can see an example of a division below.

The first number is the one on top of the division, 1, this number is called the numerator.
The second number is the one at the bottom of the division, 4, this number is the denominator.
The third number is the one next to the = sign, 0,25, this number is the quotient.
So the numerator is what you're dividing, the denominator is what you're dividing with, and the quotient is what you get when you divide those things.
