Melody, I believe he/she is saying that the arc intercepted by angle ABC (minor arc AC) is 110 degrees.

Correction:  There are 6, not 8, multiplications for the raw polynomial.

I still don't know what you want but

A=180-68=112 degrees  (opp angles in cyclic quad are supplementary)

104+C=2*71 = 142  (the angle at the centre = 2* angle at the circumference when both are subtended from the same arc.

C=142-104=38 degrees

If I scribbled down the correct numbers here on my scrap of paper i got B = 120 degrees (accuracy very questionable at this moment)

Maybe you just want all the angles at the centre.  I am a bit slow sometimes - i'm not much good at forensic mathematics.

Ok the last angle is just 360 degrees minus the other 3 angles.

I did use brackets - Math (Input=Result) removed them!  Try it!

Maybe this is my shortfall but what angle is 110 degrees ?  I don't understand.

When I want to use a picture I almost always use the "snipping tool" that was automatically included with my Window 7 operating system.  It is easy to use and then the picture can just be uploaded.

Alan and CPhill have used good techniques that would be very useful if you needed to add up a much wider range of numbers.

Say you wanted the sum of all numbers between 100 and 1650.

that would be 101+102+.......+1649.

You wouldn't add them one at a time - it would take too long!

I am surprised that you didn't use brackets in your answer because without brackets the meaning is not clear.

Multiply (1) throughout by 3

30x - 9y = 207   ...(3)  Rewrite (2) below it

2x - 9y = 39      ...(2)

Subtract (2) from (3)

28x - 0 = 207-39 or

28x = 168

Divide both sides by 28

x = 168/28 or

x = 6

Put this back into equation (2)  (or equation (1), whichever you prefer);

2*6 - 9y = 39 or

12 - 9y = 39

Subtract 12 from both sides

-9y = 27

multiply both sides by -1

9y = -27

Divide both sides by 9

y = -27/9

y = -3

so x = 6 and y = -3
