First, express 1290/360 as a mixed number = 3 + 7/12

Disregard the "whole" part and multiply the fraction by 360

We have to start by making the demoninators the same

This answer can't be reduced at all, this is the simplest term. 11 is the numerator and 12 is the demoninator, so the demoninator of the resulting fraction is 12

I'll do this problem too so you can (hopefully) have a few consistant answers.

(x-4)-(5X+6)= 14

(x) - (4) - (5x) - (6) = 14

(-4x) - (4) - (6) = 14

(-4x) - (10) = 14

          +10    +10              ---Add 10 to both sides

-4x = 24

-(-4x = 24)               ---Times both sides by a minus

4x = -24

x = -6

 Let's check it:

(x-4)-(5X+6)= 14

((-6)-4)-(5(-6)+6)= 14       ---Input -6 for x, because x = -6

(-10) - (-30 + 6) = 14

(-10) - (-24) = 14

(-10) + (+24) = 14              ---Minus a negative is the same as plus a positive

14 = 14 ✔

There we have it, x = -6!

you have to do you have to have a variable like 4 with it so it could be like 4*sin(-1290)

I sent an email to Andre Massow yesterday discussing many items.  The main ones were concerning the phantom messages and problems with the members section.  I have received an initial reply but I have not had time to examine it properly yet.  Thank you Andre for your speedy response.

It really must be silly season.

(x-4) - (5x + 6) = 14

Distributing the negative outside the parenthesis changes all the signs on the things inside. So we have

x - 4 - 5x - 6 = 14     combine like terms

-4x -10 = 14           add 10 to both sides

-4x = 24                 divide both sides by -4

x = -6

Rosala.....look at my second way, again....it's just simple math.....

1st ..   Subtract 41-22 = 19 and add 1  = 20

2nd ..  Add 41 + 22 = 63

3rd ..   Multiply the "1st" times the "2nd"......(20)(63) = 1260

Now ..... divide that by 2 =  1260/2 = 630  !!

I know you can do that  ....  !!

Adding a long string of numbers is tedious.....and sometimes almost impossible.....this way is "easy-peezy"

Working:

4x3=12

12x2=24

1x2=2

24-2=22

The arc intercepted by the 71 degree angle is 2(71) = 142 degrees.

Since part of this arc is 104 degrees, the other part is the "C" degrees.

Therefore 142 - 104 = 38 degrees...and that is the measure of "C."

Likewise the arc intercepted by the 68 degee angle is 2(68) = 136 degrees.

Then,  the remaining minor arc - "B" - between the 71 degree angle and the 68 degree angle is just 360 - 136 - 104 = 120 degrees.  Therefore "A" = (1/2)(120 + 104) = (1/2)(224) = 112 degrees.
