The kite string is the hypotenuse of a right triangle with the OPPOSITE leg being the height of the kite.
Sin40 = opp/hyp = height/80m
80 x sin 40 = height = 51.m (rounded)
We can use the sine to solve this.....
The string length is the hypotenuse and we are looking for the oppsite side.....so we have
sin (40) = h / 80 where h is the height.....multiply both sides by 80
80 * sin (40) = h ≈ 51.42 ft
