No, flat earth theory makes no sense...:)...and thank you! I think one of the things that makes no sense is one person in particular thinks that a sun orbiting over a flat earth at 3000 miles, fits the current path of the sun with a sunrise and sunset and all.

But the premise is that the earth is flat. Could u respond from that angle, pun intented...:)

a)  Theoretical probability  =  (1/6)100  = about 16 2/3 %  = about 16 times in 100

b) Experimental probability  = 47/100  = 47%

c) The die does not appear to be "fair"......we would expect a "6"  to occur far less frequently in 100 rolls....however.....although we should expect that each number would appear about 16 times in 100 rolls, this, in fact, will probably not happen.....

Actually, because of  the Earth's curvature - and other factors - the procedure is a little more complicated.

IF 2,029.8 = 74.686%, then we have:

2,029.8 / 0.74686

We want to know what  x  values make   2x² - 4x - 6   equal to   0

2x² - 4x - 6  =  0         Divide through by  2  .

x² - 2x - 3  =  0           What two numbers add to  -2  and multiply to  -3  ? →   +1   and   -3 

                                   So...we can factor it like this...

(x + 1)(x - 3)  =  0        Set each factor equal to zero and solve for x.

x + 1  =  0          and          x - 3  =  0

Maybe you need your answers given in radians instead of degrees, or degrees instead of radians?

The graphing calculator should have a setting to put it in degree mode or radian mode.

If you can't find the setting, you can convert from degrees to radians by multiplying by   π / 180

( And you can convert from radians to degrees by mutiplying by   180 / π ).

a)  a combination........combinations count sets......permutations count orderings of sets......here, the order does not matter

b)  C(8,3)  = 56  ways   ....thus 56 different sets

c)  P(3 male)  =  (sets of all possible men) /(all possible sets )  = 

  C(5,3) / C(8,3)  =  10 / 56  =  5 / 28   ≈  17.86 %

=   20 / 100   *   5.00

=   0.2 * 5.00
