Anyway, if it was meant to be a root sign, then the answer would be 1/144 because there are no brackets.
If there were brackets - sqrt(1/144) - then the answer would be 1/12.
it's v times one divided by 144, but there is no value for v so the equation cant be solved and the equation is true.
First of all, act like the < is a =. this helps for the first part. so the equasion would look like 9(2r-5)-3=7r-4
Now simplfy it.
9(2r-5)-3<7r-4
18r-45-3=7r-4
18r-48=7r-4
Now get r on one side.
18r-7r-48=7r-7r-4 r<4 is the answer
11r-48=-4
Get r alone
11r-48+48=-4+48
11r=44 r=4 r<4 Divide and get the answer for r. Now you go back and see if the inequality changes at all (which it doesn't.)
heureka made a simple mistake in copying:
1.15 million / 18,075 =63.6238 Sq. Km- The area of the city region.
63.6238 = Pi x r^2
r^2 = 63.6238 / Pi
r^2 =20.252 take the sqrt of both sides
r = ~4.50 Km radius of the region

2.5 x 10^6 This is in scientific notation.
\(2500000=2.5*10^6\)
100 ---> 1*10^2
150 ---> 1.5*10^2
2500 ---> 2.5*10^3
2500000 ---> 2.5*10^6
So basically it has to be in the format:
(number from 1-10)*10^n
where n is the number of left shifts of the decimal point in order to get to a number between 1 and 10.
