(2-4)/(x-3)   =   -2/(x-3)  = 2/(3-x)        OR

2 - 4/x - 3      which we can rewrite as

2 - 3 - 4/x      =    -1 - 4x

This illustrates the importance of parenthesis and/or brackets.......!!!

With Hypotenuse figured out, we can get Cos(θ).

Were not sure how many weeks we are buying gas...it isn't stated in in the question.

For the sake of answering this question I'll assume that this is just one week's worth of gas that we're talking about.

So, we drive 50 miles a week and our car gets 25 miles per gallon. Let's divide these two numbers to see how many gallons we buy a week.

We are buying 2 gallons of gas a week. We can multiply this by $4.00 to see how much money we spend a week.

So, we are spending $8.00 a week on gas. You can multiply this number by how many weeks we're buying gas if it's not just one week's worth.
