√3 = 7/x     so...multiplying both sides by x and dividing by √3, we have

x = 7/√3 or   (7√3) / 3

So we have......

[x - (3√5 + 2)] * [x + (3√5 - 2)] = 0

x^2 - (3√5 + 2)x + (3√5 - 2)x - [ 45 - 4] = 0

x^2 - 4x - 41 = 0

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "family,' but any multiples of this function would produce the same roots.

e is approxinately 2.71828, and it is used in logarathims. Natural logs, though. A logarathim is an exponent.

Regular logs have a base of 10, but natural logs use e as its base.

Natural logs were discovered by John Napier in the 1700s.

(1) What is n to the power of infinity

e represents a number like $${\mathtt{\pi}}$$ is a special number. Both these numbers have very special properties.

 $${\mathtt{e}} = {\mathtt{2.718\: \!281\: \!828\: \!459\: \!045\: \!2}}$$

This is an approximation, e is an irrational number so it cannot be written exactly as a fraction or a decimal.

Normally there are 365days in a year...but there are 366days in a leap year......leap year=it comes after 4 years....2012,2016,2020 are leap years.so it has 366 days.

Sorry Dragon, I forgot about your good question.

GST stands for goods and services tax.

This is a general tax on things that you buy and services that you use. 

In Australia it is 10%.  I think in New Zealand it is a little higher.

Not all countries have a GST so when people talk about things like this (in our international forum) they should really explain what they are referring to.

The modulus is just the remainder I think

So 10 Mod 6 = 4

because if you divide 10 by 6 you get a remainder of 4

Mod questions can  get very difficult but I think that this is the basic idea.

This is just the square root graph "flipped over" - the "-" out front indicates this - and shifted to the left two units. The "4" out front 'stretches" the graph vertically.
