Hi Rosala,

On the right hand side of each post is how long since it was posted.  Under that, in blue, there is coding on many of the questions that I have added.  Like Mathematics, Physics, arithmetic and Geometry.

There are 4 major areas.  I should have told everyone in the wrap.  I forget that only moderators can see them.

The four are Mathematics, Physics, Fun and Off Topic.  

Mathematics is split into a number of sub-topics.  I think these sub topics need to be revised but I really like the idea.

So we will solve this like!

First of all out here we will place the like terms together and then to make it more simpler to work out we will place the terms which have like addition sign , together and subtraction sign together!

$$2a +3b -6b +8b -2b + 8a$$    ( and now we will place the like terms together)

$$2a + 8a + 3b -6b +8b - 2b$$ ( and now place them according to their signs to make it easy for us to solve, but out here we will add 2a and 8a becoz they are already placed in the right position)

$$10a + 3b + 8b - 6b - 2b$$  ( and now we will first add then subtract them , out here we are given -6b - 2b so as when there are two negatives they are to be added and so we will add them both)

$$=10a + 11b - 8b$$   ( and now we will simply subtract 11b and 8b)

$$=10a + 3b$$      $$ANSWER$$

In question 6 the answer is  (B) east!

Another good day with some excellent answers from CPhill, Alan, admin, Stu, Rosala, AzizHusain, and Will85237. Thank you all.                                                            

The King was back from the Crusades today. He honoured us with his presence and it seems there are to be big changes in the land of Camelot.

Okay, Now I will talk in English.  Mr. Massow, owner and developer of web2.0calc.com made some changes to the forum today.  

He has introduced topic coding on the threads.  The code will be chosen by the moderators.  I think it needs some refinement but I really like the idea.   

Also the look of the Questions page has changed.  The answerers (and partial answers) are not displaying as they were before.  I am not so keen on this.

The scores were also being played with today.  They were changed then returned to their former status a couple of times today.  I think it is fair to assume that a permanent change is in the air.  I have not spoken to Mr. Massow about the scoring system at all but I am in agreement that the present system is not particularly good.  

It may be a good idea for social posters to brace themselves.  I think everyone scores are likely to be slashed but social posters will be hit the hardest.  Hopefully we will all be able to live with the adjustments when they come.  I would expect some tinkering of scores to happen even after this but as I said,  I have not spoken to Mr Massow and I do not know what his intentions really are.  Please when this happens do not take it personally.   You are here because you enjoy the forum.  The points that you are given should be a very secondary pleasure.

will return -3 but it really depends exactly what you want.

It is usually not too difficult to find the correct one.  

It depends on what the tax rate is.

The tax rate should be a percentage. Simply multiply 353.17 by the tax rate, and divide by 100.

This is for as if you were buying something from a shop, and the tax hadn't been included in the price.

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you want, due to the question not being very detailed, but I hope this helps!

Another way to deal with it.  If 2 plus or minus signs are so close together that you can put a circle around them without anything else getting in the way then.

Imaginary numbers as based on i where    $$i= \sqrt{-1}$$

Complex numbers have a real number part and  an imaginary number part  like  6+5i
