Let the length be x+1

Then the width is 2x

The perimeter of the rectangle is 2*(Length + width)

2*(x+1+2x)=2*(3x+1)=6x+2

Given perimeter is 110 cm 

Thus,

6x+2=110

6x=108

x=18

Length is x+1 

x is 18 then length is 19

Width is 2x, then  2(18)=36

Length is 19 and width is 36 cm

How to check?

Given Length is 1cm more than twice the width

Then width is half of 36 which is 18... and since the length is 19 then it is more by 1cm!

90 / 40 =2.25 - 1 x 100 =125%. Remember 100% of 40 is 80 and the 25% is that extra 10 + 80 = 90.

NO! it works for ALL quadratic equations! ; Example: 4x^2 - 20x + 16 =0. You eliminate the coefficient of A by dividing the whole equation by it. So it becomes: x^2 - 5x + 4 =0. Then use the new formula to get: x=1 and x=4.

let x be the amount of 6%        the amount of 'active' ingredients is 6% of x    or  .06x

  then 16-x  is the amount of 14% solution                                                            .14(16-x)

    added together they must equal the final solution    10%  and 16 ounces   or   .1 (16)

.06x        +    .14(16-x)        =    .1(16)        solve for 'x' the 6% solution amount...then the 14% amount will be 16 - x

I think this is overrated....I will bet this only works when the leading x^2 coefficient is 1

when a = 1     this becomes:          -b/2  +- sqrt (b^2/4 - c)       the same 'majic' formula !!!

SO this is just the quadratic formula with a = 1 ....nothing new here folks, move along !

Here is the new formula for solving quadratic equations. Somebody skilled in LaTex can re-write it with + or - on top of each other.

64 x 6 1/2 = 64 x 13/2 = 832/2 = 416 miles

Take the square root of both sides and you get:

There are 99 numbers in the range 1...99, 50 are odd and 49 are even.

For the sum of two numbers to be even, either both are even or both are odd.

We have to remember that a and b must be different numbers.

If a = 9, b can be 49 of the 50 odd numbers.

If a = 18, b can be 48 of the 49 even numbers.

If a = 27, b can be 49 of the 50 odd numbers.

Continue this pattern and add the results.

x = short side

x + 1   = second  side

(x+1) + 5 = third side          all three sides added together = 42              solve for x = short side     

Then x+ 1 = second side

   then    (x+1) + 5 = third side   

All of the angles of a triangle add to 180 degrees.....

   what do YOU think the largest angle woud be in a RIGHT triangle???
