[72 min - ( 7 songs  x  3 min/song)] / 3.5 min/song  = ....... songs

(72 - (7 x3))/ 3.5 = ........   songs

(39 + 75 + 70 + x)/4 = 70

Rearrange to find x.  You need to score x% or greater to earn a college credit.

"A wire is 50 inches long. Where should the wire be cut so that it forms 2 pieces one made into a circle and one made into a square such that the area of the circle plus the area of the square in exactly 80 square inches?"

Hmm!

What orange tiles?

WE need a lot more information than that.

The vertex is at  (5,-4) and it is sideways so

\((y+4)^2=k(x-5) \)

It appears to pass through (3,-2)

sub

\((-2+4)^2=k(3-5)\\ 4=k*(-2)\\ k=-2\\ (y+4)^2=-2(x-5)\\\)

That is the formula

So the question does not make much sense

thx for the help

Look for LCM of 6, 8 and 3, which is 24, so

Eddie  2/6 = 8/24

Andy   2/8 = 6/24

Fred   1/3 =  8/24

Alternatively, note that 2/6 is the same as 1/3, and 2/8 is the same as 1/4, and 1/3 is greater than 1/4.

At the start:     k + 156 = c + 234    (1)

At the end       k = 3c                      (2)

Put (2) into (1):     3c + 156 = c + 234

                             2c = 78

                              c = 39

so, from (3)           k = 3*39 = 117

Keddy had $117 in the end.

"The terminal ray of angle  β , drawn in standard position, passes through the point (−4, 3√5) .

What is the value of cosβ ?"

This puts the angle in the second quadrant so cosβ will be negative.

Imagine a right angled triangle where the hypotenuse reaches from the origin to the point.

Then the length of the hypotenuse is given by sqrt((-4)² + (3√5)²) = √61

Hence cosβ = -4/√61  or  cosβ = -4√61/61

"For a particular peculiar pair of dice, the probabilities of rolling 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 on each die are in the ratio $1:2:3:4:5:6$. What is the probability of rolling a total of 7 on the two dice?"

pn = n/21,  n = 1,2,3,4,5,6   so that the sum of the probabilities is unity (pn is probability a single die shows n).

To get 7 we must have

1 and 6  or 6 and 1    p₁₊₆ = 2*(1/21)*(6/21)

2 and 5 or 5 and 2     p₂₊₅ = 2*(2/21)*(5/21)

3 and 4 or 4 and 3     p₃₊₄ = 2*(3/21)*(4/21)

Overall probability = p₁₊₆ + p₂₊₅ +p₃₊₄

I'll leave you to do the number crunching.

One angle of a right triangle measures 60°. The side opposite this angle measures 9 inches.

What is the length of the hypotenuse of the triangle?

Give your answer in simplest radical form

Well, if I've interpreted the question correctly, then:

Where does it say that they all have to be red ?

If you take six balls, you will either have three the same colour amongst them or three sets of two.

The seventh ball must then give you a set of three the same colour.

Ok.  Not too surprising, I often get things wrong!  However, it would be nice to know in what way I was wrong.  Did I misinterpret the question? Was my logic wrong?  Presumably, if you know it was wrong you know the right result. Do you also know the right logic?  More information would be useful to identify the source of my error.

P(two  are hearts)  =  C(3,2)(13/52)(12/51)(39/50) =  117/850

P(3 are hearts)  = (13/52)(12/51)(11/50)  = 11/850

So....the total probability  =  [ 117 + 11] / 850 =  128/850  = 64/425

This  known as the "pigeonhole principle"

By  taking  7 + 5 + 3  =  15  balls  you are guaranteed  to end up with 3 red balls......

No problem, guest. That question is now even more interesting.

6S +  5J  = 40    (1)

3S  + 2J  = 19  multiply through by  -2 ⇒    -6S - 4J  = -38   (2)

Add (1)  and (2)

J =  2   (cents)

And

3S + 2(2)  =  19

3S +  4  =19

3S =15

S = 5 (cents)

Let  The  number  of delivery  men =  D

Then the  number  of chefs  =  (2/3)D + 24

So   we  have  this

(2/3)D + 24            5

_________  =     ____     cross-multiply

     D                      3

3 [ (2/3)D + 24  ]  = 5D      simplify

2D  + 72  =  5D     subtract  2D from both sides

72 =  3D      divide  both  sides  by  3

24  = D = number  of delivery  men

And  the  number of chefs =  (2/3)(24) + 24  = 16 + 24  =   40

So basically I accidentally rigged the odds against you and the question was missing one critical piece of information.

The quadrilateral is cyclic. Which means you can inscribe it in a circle.

See if you can solve it again.

Actually I'm too lazy to wait so basically the opposite angles of a cyclic quadrilateral are supplementary, so angle A plus angle C is equal to 180. And, A plus C is 6 of those "units," so the missing angles must be 3 of them. So, since C has 4 of them, that is the largest angle. Since we have split up the quadrilateral into 12 of those units, each is 30 degrees. Therefore, 30*4=120.

Sorry

Big apologies

But in the end, we're both anonymous so no one actually cares.

The  balls  that  meet the  requirements  are

4   8    12   13   16    20   24

So.....the probability  is

7 / 25
