x^2 -4x + y^2+12y = 8 complete the x and y squares
(x-2)2 + (y+6)2 = 8 + 4 +36 = 48
This is a circle with center 2, -6 and radius = sqrt 48 you should be able to calculate the area now that you have the radius ......
The x coordinate of the vertex can be found by -b / 2a a = 3 b = 6 c = -1
use this value of x to find the y coordinate....
Slope of shown line = 3/2 parallel slope = 3/2
(y-2) = 3/2 (x-3) arrange into the form you like to match the answer
Consider the function
\(f(x) = \begin{cases} ax^2 & \text{if } x \geq a,\\ ax +2a& \text{if } x
where a is some number. What is the largest value of a such that the graph of y=f(x) intersects every horizontal line at least once?
Would it not be 360 because it's a circle? If it is 180, I believe the answer would be x =5 and y = 40?
If it's 360, it would be x = 15 and y = 60.
Any ideas which one it is?
Sine of angle "?" is the opposite side over the hypotenuse.
sine(angle ?) = 162.5 / 298 = 0.5453020134
arcsine ( 0.5453020134 ) = 33.045o this is the size of the angle
.
ok, I realized AQS and ARD are similar triangles so I solved the problem! thanks to anyone who tried to help
26 x 26 x 26 x 5 x 5 x 5 x 5 = 263 * 54 = ...............
n = nickels value = 5n
q = quarters = 16-n value = 25 (16-n) summed = 220
5n + 25(16-n) = 220 solve for n = the number of nickels
This
OK ! Done ! Any QUESTIONS ?
The unlabelled angle in the triangle is 180 - 29 -12x-26 this plus 15x+34 sum to 180 (straight line)
so 180 -29 -12x -26 + 15x+34 = 180 solve for x then the angle you are seeking is 15x+34

Oh my... god.
5 people x 13 days = 65 people days to complete
5 people x 4 days = 20 people days completed leaving
45 people days to completion by 3 people....... 15 days more to complete after suspension
total days 4 + 15 = 19 days total
the beauty of math....
(i think it would be less scary better if i changed the colors....)
I'm not scared of it... :P I think it's super cool
Not positive....but if a = 2 the graph shifts leftward by 2 and becomes symmetrical about the x=y axis.
vertex -3,-2
parabole in vetex form
y = a (x+3)2 -2
sub in a convenient point on the graph -1 , 2 sub into the equation to calc 'a' = 1
y = (x+3)2 - 2
1x+sqrt((14^-2)/17) this looks incomplete....is there more? ' = ' ?
1x + sqrt (1/((142)(17))
1x + 1/14 sqrt (1/17)
Find the slope (y1-y2) / (x1-x2) = -1
y = -1 (x ) + b put in one of the points to calculate 'b'
1 = -1(2) + b
1 = -2 + b
b = 3
y = -x +3
there are two (or more) factors multiplied together to produce 6x^2+48x+96
so the factors should divide into this with no remainder....
if you 'factor' 6x^2 + 48x + 96 you will get 6 (x+4)(x+4) these are three factors
its wrong :/
could you please explain a bit?
that's incorrect, sorry
