I recently noticed that CPhil got removed from top users... is he ok?    

When I click the "down arrow" at the bottom of the list, CPhill's name reappears at the top.

    there are TWO of these triangles that make  the larger isosceles right triangle .

       So the total area is       2   *   (1/2)(8 tan 45)(8)   units²         <=========== You can finish

I can see from my diagram that MB=AM   but the reason eludes me....

CM is NOT diameter!!!

CM would be the diameter only if AC = BC!!! But this is not the case.

To add a bit, the reason 12^n can't be wholly divisable by 20 is because 20 = 2^2 * 5 and 12 = 2^2 * 3. 

That means that 12^n will only have factors of 2 and 3 (assuming n is an integer). 

Therefore, it will never be able to divide out the 5 in 20.

The original radius will become the slant height, so the slant height will be 15units

360-144=216 degrees

Now find the cone radius

\(C=2\pi r\\ 18\pi=2\pi r\\ r=9\;\;units\)
