Add them all together which equals 230 then divide 230 by the number of numbers you have(in this case 5)
So:230 divided by 5 =46
Hope this helps

-4/5 + (- 1/3)
= -4/5 + - 1/3
If 2 signs (+ or -) are so close together that you can put a circle around them without anything else inside the circle
then
if the signs are the same, replace with a plus
if the signs are different, replace with a minus.
= -4/5
-
1/3
then, either find a common denominator and solve that way or just do it on your calculator.
If doing by hand,
consider -8-6 = -(8+6) = -14

so take it apart:
2-2 = 0 and 2/3-1/3 = 1/3
the answer is 0+1/3
=1/3

Maybe you mean
what is the cube root of -125 in which case the answer is -5 because -5*-5*-5 = -125
there is a cube root button on your calculator or you can use.
Also a cube root is a power of 1/3
so
(-125)^(1/3) should also give you the correct answer.

It is 3
5(root5)i
BUT at high school level it is fair to say that the square root of a negative number does not exist so there is no answer.

Parallel to y=3x-4 and through the point (0,5)
The gradient of y=3x-4 is 3
any line parallel must also have a gradient of 3
Now there is more than one way to continue;
you could just say y=3x + b
sub in (0,5) to find b
then just write the equation answer down.
Is this enough help?

Speed of sound at sea level is approx 340.29 m/s
340.29m/s * 5.6sec = 1905.624m (the secs cancel out)
1.906km
there is about 5/8 mile in one km (a mile is further than a km)
1.906 * (5/8) = 744 miles

your answer isn't correct
I think the question is
y = (x-1) (rootx - 2)
y= x(rootx - 2) - 1(rootx - 2)
=xrootx - 2x - rootx +2
now, rootx = x to the power of 1/2
xrootx = x
1
x
1/2
= x
(1+1/2)
= x
(3/2)
so
y= x
(3/2)
-2x -x
(1/2)
+ 2

That is correct so long as the 3*3 is in brackets
2^3*3=24
2^(3*3)=512
Remember, you must do powers before you do multiply UNLESS the brackets tell you differently.

ok
Firstly Mcfood, area cannot be cubic
Area must be in square units and Volume is measured in cubic units.
Land is an area.
so the size is probably supposed to be 1000 square metres.
I'll assume it is a rectangular parcel of land.
It could be 100m by 10m
or, it could be 50m by 20m
or, it could be 5m by 200m
There are countless possible answers.
So long as the breadth times the length = 1000
Area of a rectangle
A=l * b

Just multiply the numerators by each other, and the denominators by each other.
Example: 4/7 x 6/5 = (4x6) / (7x5) = 24/35
I have faith in your ability to solve your math problems.

Ok, remember PEMDAS:
P-parenthesis
E-exponents
MD- multiply and divide (the order doesn't matter on these two)
AS- add and subtract ( the order of these two don't matter, either)
All equations should be solved in that order. So, if I have this problem:
2 + 5 * (2 + 4 * 6 / 2) - 3
Then I solve the things in parenthesis first, in PEMDAS order:
2 + 5 * (2 + 24 / 2) - 3
2 + 5 * (2 + 12) - 3
2 + 5 * 14 - 3
Then multiply:
2 + 70 - 3
Then add and subtract, in whichever order (though I prefer to add before subtracting, as I prefer multiplying before dividing):
72 - 3
69
There's the answer. All questions should be solved using PEMDAS order. (If you don't know what an exponent is, don't worry about it. If you do, sorry, but over the internet I have no idea how old you are )
