There are two methods I would use for this question

The first involves separating both values and dividing them individially

1.2 / 2

1 / 2 = 0.5

0.5 + 0.1 = 0.6

1.2 / 2 = 0.6

Because you are using decimals you can take away the decimal point and add it later

1.2 / 2

12 / 2

12 / 2 = 6

now we add the decimal point
