parallel to 3x+4y=12 through (4,-5)
This is the form we want → y = mx + b where m = the slope
We want y by itself on the left side......so
4y = -3x + 12 divide both sides by 4
y = (-3/4)x + 3 so the slope is (-3/4)
And parallel lines have the same slope...so...uing the point-slope form ,we have
y - (-5) = (-3/4)(x - 4)
y + 5 = (-3/4)x + 3 subtract 5 from both sides
y = (-3/4)x - 2
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
parallel to : 1x+2y=5 through (-6,2)
Again, get y on the left side
2y = -1x + 5 divide through by 2
y = (-1/2)x + 5/2
So the slope = -1/2........now just folllow what I did in the first problem
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
parallel to y=-2/5x-10 through (10,-3)
Here, we already have the form we need.......the slope is (-2/5)....and this is worked just like the other two
