Uhhhhhh.......   your question is missing some information needed in order to give you a solution....

If you MEANT to say there are 12 sausages in each pacage and there are 8 breads (buns) in each package THEN to get the same amount of sausages and buns you would need to find the lowes common factor of these numbers.

If you cannot do it in your head , you can find their multiples:

Multiples of 12 = 12 24 36 48 60       and multiples of  8 = 8 16 24 32 40

So can you see the lowest COMMON multiple ....the multiple that is in both ?    ( it's 24)

The lowes common multiple is 24........how many packages of sausage is that?      How many packages of bread is that?  

2 packages of sausages      and   3  packages of breads (buns) 

Well... When I add 2+2, I look at it philosophically. I look at all the different ways I can add 2+2.

2+2 wheels = functional vehicle. 2+2 people = double date/crowd/group/love triangle with extra hanger-on. 2+2 with numbers can be 22,4,0,infinity, or I don't care. 3 (4 x-5)+4 (2 x+6)

3 (4 x-5) = 12 x-15:
12 x-15+4 (2 x+6)

4 (2 x+6) = 8 x+24:
8 x+24+12 x-15

Grouping like terms, 12 x+8 x-15+24 = (12 x+8 x)+(-15+24):
(12 x+8 x)+(-15+24)

12 x+8 x = 20 x:
20 x+(-15+24)

24-15 = 9:

First you get U on its own side so

4/3u=7/3u + 9 Then you multiply 4/3 by the recipricle of 7/3 which is 3/7

u = 15.7500000008 That is your awnser and round to the nearest sig fig or what they tell you to round to. If you want a fraction just take the improper fraction of 9/1 * 21/12 and then turn it into a mixed fraction.

What does 30% mean? By now, you should know that.

It means 30 / 100=.30, then you have:

.30 X 12.50=$3.75 that is his profit. Then you have:

12.50 + 3.75=$16.25 that was his selling price. OR, you could do this too:

(1 + 30%) X 12.5=1.30 X 12.50=$16.25- his selling price.

From th info given   5 1/2  cups  weighs 1 9/16 lbs      (lbs is an abbreviation for pounds)

Substitute these values

(1 9/16) lbs  /  (5 1/2 cups) =    ????  lbs/cup

Doing the math

(1 9/16)/ (5 1/2)  =   (25/16)/ (11/2)  =   25/16  X  2/11  =   .284 lbs/cup        OK so far?

Now lets see if 35 cups is more or less than 10 lbs (what the question asks)

(35 cups)  x  ( .284 lbs/cups)  =  9.943 lbs   not QUITE  ten pounds ....so there must be a bit more than 35 cups in there to make it 10 pounds
