I wrote a song using the first 32 decimal places of pi so here's what I remember:

If you do a quick google search for " digits of pi " you can get up to a million digits pretty easily, just so you are aware.

As for what that symbol means, I'm not sure. But somebody will know what it means.

Remember....in the quotient rule, the denominator is the "v" term squared.......so

v = x^3

And

v^2   = [x^3]^2   = x^6

It looks like you want to know the time 30 minutes earlier than 5:09

There will be 9 minutes from 5:09  back to 5:00

Then, 21 minutes earlier than this will be the time you want = 4:39

Another way to see this is to look at the time 30 minutes before 5:00  = 4:30

Adding 9 minutes to 5:00 = 5:09   ....so, likewise, adding 9 minutes to 4:30   = 4:39

W=-18 since half of 18 is 9 then -18 is -9

12x-5x-4 >=   60 - 8      simplify

7x - 4  >=    52         add 4 to both sides

7x >= 56        divide both sides by 7

x >= 8

how do I solve 12x-5x-4 is greater than or equal to 60-8,

Which is it: 60 or 8 or 60-8=52???????

Factor x from the left hand side:
x (3 x+5) = 0

Split into two equations:
x = 0 or 3 x+5 = 0

Subtract 5 from both sides:
x = 0 or 3 x = -5

Divide both sides by 3:
Answer: | 
| x = 0              or x = -5/3

I believe you just want to isolate pi  on one side of the equation???....if so, we have

V=pi*R^2*H-pi*r^2*H    factor out pi on the right....and H inside the parentheses

V = pi [ H*(R^2 - r^2)]       divide both sides by [ H*(R^2 - r^2)]  

V / [ H*(R^2 - r^2)]    = pi
