g(x)  = 2 l x + 2 ]     is the absolute value graph of  l x  l shifted two units to the left with a vertical stretch

The " vertex" of l x l = (0, 0)

So...the "vertex" of   2  l x + 2 l  is  (-2, 0)

So....the first  graph is correct

And the x  values for the solutions are

x = -2      and      x = 0       

Note that   f(x) = g(x)   when 

x = 1      

and

x =  7

So

1, 7        are correct

Here's my best attempt

Time =   [distance from (0, -63) to (x , 0)] / rate    plus [ distance from (x, x) to (0, 74) ] / rate 

Time  =  √ (x^2 + 63^2) / √ 2  +  √ [x^2 + (74 - x)^2 ] / 2      

We could use Calculus to solve this, but a graph seems easier

It shows that the time is minimized when x  ≈ 23.3

And the minimized time ≈ 75.4 sec

Well....we'll say she works 18 days and then gets a paid day off....

She works 9 x 18 = 162 hours

 She gets paid for 171 hours (because of the day off)     171 hr x $36/hr  / 162 hr =  $38.00/hr

W(x)  constantly increases from left to right ....the slope is not constant and the point (0,1) is on the graph.....these are characteristics of an exponential

Z(x)   is symmeric about x = 4......without knowing anything else, this seems to indicate a polynomial  [ maybe a parabola ]

So....A   seems to be the best choice

We can set this so that x^2-6x+8=x-2.
