You add a 1/4 to both sides and then you divide both sides by 3.  

Well you could use the distance formula.

This is not a very good wrap - it doesn't even have any credits. Sorry,  all of our answerers should know that you are wonderful.  

I guess it is more of a place marker.  The last couple of pages of questions have been covered properly but there are a lot of unanswered questions on the pages before that.  Most answers have been given credit but not all, I am sorry I will try to get back to them if i can.

This site is becoming increasingly well known and most schools in the world are active at present hence there are more questions than we can comfortably cope with.  Please make greatest effort with member questions. I would like our members to be looked after where ever possible.

As soon as you multiply by 100 you should add the % sign

It says  approximate which to me means no calculator

I'd approximate it at 1.06 of 60 = 60+0.06*60 = 60+6*0.01*60=60+6*0.6=60+3.6=63.6

OR

a little easier 1.05*60 = 60+0.05*60=60+half of 0.1of60=60+half of 6 = 63

But it doesn't say "prove" Rosala, it is just a true statement.

If √0.09 * 0.9 * x = 0.9 * 0.09.√y , then find x/y

Do you mean that your teacher did not get sqrt y on the RHS.  That her answer was just a number?

Does that look better Rosala?  See if you can tell me what line you got lost at.  

And if you can tell me why.  The 1st line is just the question.  Make sure it is the question that you want. 

Anonymous, your exact method will only work if the coefficient of x² is 1.

When factorising always look for common factors first like Honga has done.

If there are no common factors - I mean when I cannot get the x² coefficient to equal 1 I use the  grouping method technique.

This video is good for factoring all types of quadratics.

But Melody this is a question!ive solved many like this!this isnt a true statement either!her we were to determine IF this was a true statement or not and i have determined that yes this is a true statement by using the method of LHS and RHS so this is a question!

There actually is no question here.

It is just a true statement.

6+(-4)= (-4)+6

But as Rosala has said the answer is 2.

Melody im still stuck and my teacher had solved it and got a proper answer aswell!
