= 1/7 * 20/1      (and now simply reduce then or just multiply if they cant be reduced)

l y l  = 0

And the only thing that makes this 0 is when  y = 0  !!!!

Notice in "S1" that we have

40/100 * x = 10       since we want to find "x" we need to multiply both sides by the reciprocal of 40/100 which is 100/40.......

So we have

(100/40)*(40/100) * x =  10* (100/40)         notice that the fractions "cancel" on the left side !!! So we have...

x = 10 * (100/400) .......which is just  "S2"

OK... I need an example... so we will use the example: 2(9 + 4)

To break it down you need to do 2(9) + 2(4). You would do 2*9 (which equals 18) and you would also do 2*4 (which equals 8).

That leaves you with 18 + 8... If you were doing the whole problem you would do 18 + 8 but since you only asked how to do the distributive property. I won't get into that.

I'm only know a little about this....it involves spherical trigonometry which is quite different from plane trig.

Multiply the numerators together:     1 x 3 x 8  =  24       <--- this is the numerator of the answer

Multiply the denominators together:  4 x 5 x 9  =  180     <--- this is the denominator of the answer

Answer  =  24 / 180

Now, reduce your answer.

I think it is no solution.

For the first one, we just need to find the least common multiple for 9, 10 and 14,,,,so we have

9 = 3²

10 = 2 * 5

14 = 2 * 7

So the least common multilple is  3² * 2 * 5 * 7  =  630. And they will meet agiain in 630 minutes = 10.5 hrs.!!!  (Hope they don't run out of gas!!)

For the second one....there will 5 rows of 5 squares each = 25 squares. To see this, note that the area of the big square = 900sq in. And the area of each little square =  36sq in  So, 900/36 = 25 !!

To find the number of cases they pack, divide  3528  by  48.

3528  /  48  =  73.5 cases
