a b****y window duhhhh
Erin is here
{3,5,7,9}∩{2,5,9,10} find the intersection
The interesection just lists the elements common to both sets.....so we have {5, 9}
{5,6,7,8,9,}∪{4,5,7,14} find the union
The union lists all the elements of both sets....so we have {4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 14}
H7....my man!!!......yep......we missed you (we'll talk about my lousy football picks, later...LOL!!!)
Thanks to Alan for pointing out that I inadvertantly omitted the leading "-" sign in my previous answer.......I have edited the answer.....(I hope I finally got it correct...!!!)
Welcome back :)
This can be calculated in several ways.
1. By multiplication of fractions
Remember that all whole numbers k can be written in the form k/1. We multiply the numerator (top) by numerator and denominator by denominator, and get:
$$\frac{1}{6}*\frac{18}{1}= \frac{18}{6} = 3$$
2. By division of the whole number
To multiply a number with 1/x is the same as dividing it with x. We get:
$$\frac{1}{6}*18 = \frac{18}{6}= 3$$
For completeness I might add this: If you wish to multiply a whole number with a fraction where the numerator (top) is unlike 1, you simply multiply the whole number with the numerator, and divide the product with the denominator:
$$\frac{a}{b}* k = \frac{a*k}{b}$$
Well they must both be negative.
-3 and -2
22/7 = 3,142857(142857)...
As you see this fraction can be represented as a repeating decimal with reptend (repeting sequence) 142857.
This fraction is a good approximation for the number pi.
7$ because 9 plus 10 equals 21 and then i multiplied that by three and by the time i was done i got 7 dollars and 23 cents
I got 39.4% correct to 1 decimal place.
2+2= fish only 60% of people will figure this out.... good luck
I have four numbers and none of them were correct.....:(
2+2= 21
see also:
10+9= 21
okay thanks!!!
Belle=0.25=25%
Snow White=12/60=20%
Anna=35%
Elsa=35+25+20=80
100-80=20
Anna stacked the most with 35%
$$\frac{115-82.50}{82.50}*100 \;\;\%$$
you have to divide by the actual CORRECT number. :)
The tangent line to the curve y = x^3 at the point A(2, 8) intersects the curve at another point
$$\\y=x^3\\ y'=3x^2\\ $when x=2$\\ y'=3*4=12\\ $ so the gradient of the tangent is 12$\\ $equation of the tangent is$\\ y=12x+b\\ $sub in (2,8)\\ 8=24+b\\ b=-16\\ y=12x-16\\ \mbox{So you need to find the intersection of }\\ y=12x-16 \quad and \quad y=x^3\\\\ x^3=12x-16\\ x^3-12x+16=0\\ $I know that (2,8) is one solution so one of the factors is (x-2)$\\ $I now did an algebraic division and found the other factor to be $x^2+2x-8\\$$
$$\\So\\ x^3-12x+16=0\\ (x-2)(x^2+2x-8)=0\\ (x-2)(x-2)(x+4)=0\\ $So the intersections occur at x=2 and at x=-4$\\ when\;\; x=-4 \qquad y=(-4)^3=-64\\ so\\ $the other intersection will be at (-4,-64)$\\$$
and just to make sure it was right I draw the graph.

Woah! Admin was on? What a surprise! I wasn't!
7/(1/6) is the same as 7 divided by one-sixth.
7/(1/6) Swap and multiply
7*6=42
42 cannot be simplified
okay I will assume that it is a right prism
You have to find the area of the end.
so find the area of the recangle A=length x breadth
now find the area of the semicircle A = half of $$\pi r^2$$
The radius of the semicicle is going to be half of 4 or a half of 9 depending on your diagram.
Add those 2 areas together.
Now the volume is area of base times depth.
The area of the base is what you just worked out and the depth is 3cm
Your answer will be in $$cm^3$$
Thank you Melody
The tangent line to the curve y = x3 at the pointA(2, 8) intersects the curve at another pointB(x0, y0). Find x0. And this is another question for you guys... sincerely
I'll assume that first dot is meaningless.
1) divide both sides by -3
2) minus 6 from both sides.
3) now you have your answer. :)
Hi Happy - We did miss you. Welcome back :)
