Correction to my previous statement, 7 should be in the parenthesis as the time.

Use the formula A(t)=Pe^rt

A(t) is the final amt.; which is what you are trying find. P is the initial investment (1,200). e is the natural base, which will always have an exponent. e can be found on a calculator. In this case, R is the rate, which needs to be turned into a decimal (5.75% to 0.0575). t is time (7 years). So your equation should look like this: 

A(t)= 1,200e^0.0575(8)

Solve and you should get your answer.

Well, the Fibbonachi Sequence is a sequence where a number is added to the previous number. Starting at one, one will be added to one, which makes two. Two is added to one, which makes three. Three is added to two, to make five (so on, so forth).

The first 10 numbers (starting at one) are 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55

The numbers, put in a grid going clockwise (starting from (-1, 0)) form a shape known as the Fibbonachi Spiral, primary examples being the shells of snails and other mollusks.

Yes, great picture Alan.   I am going to try to reproduce it, did you draw it in GeoGebra or in one of your other programs?

I just realised how i would do it.  I'd use the xy axes for the right angle and then it should be easy.

Does anyone now how to use GeoGebra well?  It is not very intuitive!  I think you are supposed to be able to turn your diagrams into LaTex code in there as well.

I am sure it is brilliant if you can ever learn how to use it properly!
