Imagine a square of 40mx60m

Such a square has two sides of 40m and two sides of 60m

Therefore the total length of all the sides would be

40+40+60+60 = 200m

A fence of 200m would therefore be needed.

Okay, so here's what happens.

The first cart has a length of 1 meter and every cart which is next in line will add 25 cm.

Therefore 1 trolley will take up 1 meter and the other 19 will take up 25cm.

Therefore the total stack will have a length of 1 + 19*0.25 = 5.75 meters

you really need to use brackets to make your meaning clear.

The first one is really the most correct interpretation - mathematically speaking!

or

$${\mathtt{8}}{\mathtt{\,\times\,}}{\sqrt{{\frac{{\mathtt{2}}}{{\mathtt{2}}}}}} = {\mathtt{8}}$$

This will help you remember the quadratic formula.

I misread the question!

arctan(1/√x) and arctan(√x) are angles.

If you take the tangent of the equation and use the usual identity

tan(A - B) = (tan A - tan B)/(1 + tan A.tan B)

you finish up with a quadratic in √x.

I don't have time to type it in at the moment, I'll do so later if it hasn't been done in the meantime.

Also, is that 105 degrees or radians ? My guess is degrees.

-4=-7/4x-7+9/4x

-4=(-7/4)x-7+(9/4)x

The Quadratic Equation: $$x^2-2x-8=0$$

The solution for $$x^2+px+q=0$$ is:

$$x_{1,2}=1\pm\sqrt{1+8}$$

$$x_{1,2}=1\pm\sqrt{9}$$

$$x_{1,2}=1\pm3$$

$$x_1=1+3=4$$

$$x_2=1-3=-2$$

$$\text{so}\quad x_1=4 \quad \text{and} \quad x_2=-2$$

Unfortunately what you have done is not correct because the 2 is not meant to be raised to the power of 3.

$$2(-3x^2y^3)^3\\\\
=2\times ((-1)^3\times 3^3\times (x^2)^3\times (y^3)^3)\\\\
=2\times(-1\times 27\times x^6 y^9)\\\\
=-54x^6y^9$$

You could solve it using the quadratic formula.

atan(1/sqrt(x))-atan(sqrt(x)) = 105

As a result, x = 13

Distribute the 2 on the outside of the parenthesis first.

(-6x^2y^3)^3

Past that, I'm not entirely sure. It would make sense to just make is -6x^2y^3^3, which is (simplifying the 3^3) -6x^2y^27

First, combine like terms. This makes the equation much simpler.

-4 = -7/4x - 7 + 9/4x

-4 = 2/4x - 7

3 = 2/4x

Then, divide by 2/4 (multiply by 2)

3*2 = (2)2/4x

6=x

$$e^{ln5}=5$$

Is that what you mean?

7 1/2 is equivalent to 7 3/6

7x6=42

so 45/6 - 5/6

45 - 5 = 40

40/6

or, in mixed number form, 6 4/6, which can be simplified to 6 2/3

100*99 = 9900

or if you prefer
