I guess you are trying to find the values of r in the equation A = P*(1+r*t) where all the other terms are known.

A = 5227.5

P = 5100

t = 3 months = 0.25 years

5227.5 = 5110*(1 + r*0.25)   where r will be in units of "per year".

Divide both sides by 5110

5227.5/5110 = 1 + r*0.25

Subtract 1 from both sides.

5227.5/5110 - 1 = r*0.25

Divide both sides by 0.25

(5227.5/5110 - 1)/0.25 = r

sin(angle) is opposite/hypotenuse, so as long as you know the angle and the hypotenuse you can find the opposite from opposite = hypotenuse*sin(angle).

You can also use procents, 1/5 is in procents 20% and then you use ([amount]/100)*[procent]

If it's to hard to make a procent, you can just divide the amount by the most down number of the fracture, but you can only do this if the upper number is 1.

You can always use [amount] / 100 (now you know 1%) * [procent] (nine in this example).

So: (1000/100)*9= $90

150 degrees is 2nd quad which means the cosine of it is negative.

Now just look at the acute angel equivalent 180-150=30degrees.

I do not memorise these ratios.  I draw an equilateral triangle of side legth 2 and then bisect it like in the diagram.

I then worry only about one half of it.  The bottom is 1 unit. The hypotenuse is 2 units.  Using pythagoras' Theorum you get the height as sqrt(3)

$$Cos 150^0=\:-cos30^0=\frac{-\sqrt3}{2}$$

B = inverse tan (15/9) = arc tan (15/9)

tan^-1(15/9)= atan(15/9)

The Web2 calculator uses the atan version.  To bring itup press 2nd first.
