I know how to convert standard complex numbers in the form of a+bi to polar form. What confuses me here is the fact that 2^i is not in the standard complex number form

I know that but how do you convert 2^i to polar form?

Polar form is $z=r(cosθ+i(sinθ))$ for some complex number $z$.
