Tan-1 as in tan^-1 is the same as arctan or "atan" on the calculator on this website. First, click the "2nd" key on the top left of the scientific calculator. Second, you should see an "atan" 3 keys below the "2nd" key. [Note that the tan key changes from tan with a grey -1 --> atan.] Third, just input whatever you have in the atan such as atan(1).

Since none of the numbers (40, 20, & 20) are in degree form, we use the radian or "rad" function on the calculator. The expression becomes ((2*cos(40) - cos(20)) / sin(20). Remember, parentheses are very important! I assumed the 2 will only be multiplied with the cos(40) and that it does not read 2(cos(40) - cos(20)) since that would yield a different answer. After getting the values for cos(40), cos(20), and sin(20) and replacing them with decimals, we get:

[(2*(-0.6669)) - (0.40808)] / (0.9129) = -1.908 as the final answer.

*Make sure you use the "rad" function. Usually, degree or "deg" is the default form, so you will have to switch from "Deg" to "Rad" on the calculator on this website, for example.*

f(x) = A sin(Bx - C) + D

Where: |A| = amplitude2 π/B = period
C/B = phase shift

So the amplitude is:

|-4| = 4

The period is:

2 π/2 = π

And the phase shift is:

As another note, the vertical shift is D, so for this function it would be -5, or 5 down.

When there isn't a math symbol between two sets of parentheses, it means to multiply. Here's an example

(9)(5) = (9)*(5) = 45

So let's put that into our equation:

Now, based on our order of operations, we need to do parentheses next. Some people like to think of PEMDAS to remember the order of operations. This picture might help out:

Let's turn 3/2 to a decimal by divide 3 by 2. We get 1.5. Let's put this in the equation.

(-16.5)*(-1.44)

or

2) March 2010 to August 2014

1) If this is what you meant, just count out the months.

January, Febuary, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December.

So 5 months.

2) If this is what you meant, first count out the months like question 1), then add that to 4 years. There is 12 months in a year.

4*12 will then tell us the number of months in 4 years

= 48

Add that to the 5 months

48+5=53

Yes Anonymous you are correct but its just that you didnt explain the answer nicely for the asker could get it all properly but nevermind ive come to explain!

So we'd do this like

250 ÷ 100  ( so we'd reciprocate the right side and also change the sign to multiplication one)

=250/1 x 1/100  ( now we will cut 250 and 100 as much as they can be cut or reduced)

=5/1 x 1/2  (now as they can no more be reduced we directly multiply them)

=5/2  ( now we will divide them both to get our anwer)

=2.5  ANSWER
