I need help understanding how to do this problem. Can anyone help me out? 

I'm going to assume that what looks like a diameter is actually a diameter. 

AD is a straight line, which contains 180^o  

The right angle is 90^o plus the 52^o totals 142^o  

Subtract that from the 180^o of AD and it leaves 38^o for that small sliver of an angle (AB)

Since that angle is 38^o then so is the other small sliver on the other side (DE)

Subtract the 38^o (DE) from the straight line 180^o (AD) and that leaves 142^o for AE

A clothing dealer sold two shirts at $12 each. On one he made a profit of 20%; on the other he lost 20%. How many dollars did he lose on the two sales combined?

I think it is 4, 5.

This is because of SAS theorem, the other choices don't match up to SAS, remember that the sum of the angles on a triangle add to 180. That means triangle 5 also has an angle of 45.

As you look at the graph from L to right....what range of x does it appear to be going 'downhill' ?

Since it is symmetrical parabola, the high point will be directly above the distance between the zeroes (approx   0 and 4)....   2 seconds (which you can actually SEE just by looking at the graph)

This is the "closed form" of the sequence that will generate all 400 numerators in the question:

Basically, the 400 numbers are ALL the odd numbers between 1 and 1000 of which there are 500 such numbers, exluding 100 numbers that end in 5.

In standard form we have

y = (-1/3) (x+ 3)^2 + 3

y = (-1/3) (x^2 + 6x +9) + 3

y = (-1/3)x^2 - 2x - 3  + 3

y = (1/3)x^2 - 2x

So we have a sum of cubes which can be factored as :

(5x + 8y)  [ (5x)^2  - 5x*8y  + (8y)^2 ]  =

(5x + 8y ) ( 25x^2  - 40xy  + 64y^2)
