Ok i got it right thank you! i understood my mistake was i forgot that when simplifying (2x+3y)(2x+3y) i just multiplyed out the integers but i forgot that the variables also square each other. 

Well, if you got   4x + 9y = 64    you didn't look at the answer I gave you......

|3x-5| = 2x+2

solve the following:

3x-5 = 2x+2          or      3x-5 = -2x-2       

well i got that already i got 4x + 9y = 64 but i dont understand how to turn this into 4x^2 + 9y^2 = something?

(2x+3y)^2 = 4     expand

4x^2    +   12 xy   + 9y^2    = 4

4 x^2    + 12(-5)   + 9y^2   = 4        You can take it from here, hopefully !

to be divisible by 72, it has to be divisible by 8 and 9. To be divisible by 9, 3 + 2 + x + 5 + y has to be divisible by 9. So, 10+x+y is divisible by 9. Then, x5y has to be divisible by 8. Now, if you list it all out, you should get an answer.

x^2 -8x      +    y^2+5y      = 35            complete the square for x and y

(x-4)^2      +   (y+2.5)^2       =   35   + 16 + 6.25

Multiply first equation by 2     then add it to the 2nd equation...this will eliminate 'y'...you can then solve for 'x'

   use this value of 'x' in one of the equtions to solve for 'y'

Multiply thru by n^2 to get

.28n^2 - n -2 = 0    Quadratic formula (for the negative value)    n = - 1.42857

...or think of a pythagorean triple 

Use Pythagorean theorem

   the diagonal is the hypotenuse    one leg is 20       find the other leg (width)

         h^2 = l₁ ²  + l₂ ²

         25²  = 20²  +  w^{2       Solve for w}
