This is a parabola that opens upward.
The x coordinate of the vertex is given by -b/2a = -2/(2*4) = -1/4
And putting this back in the original problem to find the y coordinate of the vertex, we have y = 4(-1/4)^2+2(-1/4) - 7 = 4(1/16) - 1/2 - 7 = 1/4 - 1/2 - 7 = -1/4 - 7 = -29/4
The axis of symmetry is x = -1/4
The y-intercept is when x =0 = (0, -7)
