What do you mean why is math worst thing ever..? Its here to help you establish a better understanding of everything! In my opinion only i think people who don't care for math or talk a bunch of c**p about math are just haters and are simply lazy, if it weren't for math you wouldn't know your age right now, when your birthday is, when the holidays are, how days are in a year, how far along 2020 is, and or how many days till winter break there is left. So therefore everything deals with math including counting money that you spend or have saved ! Thank math, and quit complaining of how its the worst thing ever

Hey melody ! My teacher emails me a problem every now and then and this one she gave me, looks exactly as it does on here. Thing is....dont make fun of me I don't know how to read the symbols. My last school i was at sadly never taught math so now im stuck doing problems on the email because my teacher (Tutor) is on early winter vacation! My head is going to explode and I cant do it, and ive copied and pasted the problem to the calculators and it says error

This is just a bit of background knowledge that it would be good for you to know.

With this sort of question it is important that you start with 0 on the right hand side and everything else on the left. But your question is already set up this way. So this is just another bit of background knowledge.

Now your question
3x ³ -2x = 0

first factorise out the x so that you have 2 factors (only the x is easy to factorise out).

now you know that if two numbers multiply together to get 0 then one or the other or maybe both have to be equal to 0.
It is the same with algebraic factors that multiply to give 0
So you have to put each factor = 0 (and solve each resultant equation) to get all the possible values x
