1 how many of what is that that is (one 1) then you wright it as 11 if its 11 how many of what us that (two 1) then its 21 the next one you wright as "one 2 one 1" then its ( 1211)etc. if it 312211 (one 3 one 1 two 2 two one) then

#1

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2*(Length + Width)

In other words, the sum of all sides.

So  5+5+12+12=34 which is D  2*(12+5)=2*17=34 D

#2

Just count each mark from left to right, it is already labelled that 0 is the first mark, then the second is 1 and so on till you reach B which will be 8 (D)

#3

I think 2? C

#4

B) 3 and 2 Z shape.

Oh sorry, i calculated it wrong (Calculator lol) But the metho is correct as Cphil did :)

It could have been me that made the careless error.  I did not check my answer.

I often leave it to other people to pick up my silly mistakes.

Why did you delete yours Rom?

It was right too!  At least I think it was.

I completmented guest but it was not meant as an insult to you.

I should have said thanks you for your answer as well. Sorry.

Yours was the more usual way to do it...  Some people would have like it better.

It did for me too!

It is a concept that is used in Chemistry all the time but it is rarely taught in mathematics.

I do not know why not.

1)  5 ft 6 in  =   5.5 ft

We know the opposite side to  the given angle and we are looking for the hypotenuse

So.....the sine is what we need

sin 60°   =  5.5  / hypotenuse        rearrange as

hypotenuse  =   5.5  / sin (60)   =   6.35 ft

B)   1 and 8    (alternate exterior angles)

1. it was B

#1, first let's know what a radius is ,

it is half of a diameter (Diameter is from one endpoint of a circle to another (Horizontal or vertical line in the middle) All radiuses of one circle are equal distant from every point on a circle

So we can say that the radius of this circle is from the middle point ( 2,3) to (3,3) so to find the radius, 3-2=1 (Radius) E is the correct

#2

Well it starts with 0 on the far left , just count every mark till you reach A which will be 7 (C)

#3

A

Because it rained and if it rained it said jenna doesn't go to the pool, she will go shoping and A says jenna will go shopping.

Right angle triangle, Adam's height is equal to one of its side (Opposite to angle 60)

So,

Using trigonometry

we know that sin(60)=opp/hyp (We want to find the hypotenuse as it will tell us the distance from the tip of the shadow to the real adam's head.

(Angle 60 is at the tip of the shadow)

sin(60)=5.6/x (x is the hypotenuse)

xsin(60)=5.6

Now divide each side by sin(60)

x=5.6/sin(60)=6.46632301 approx.=6.47 Option c is correct.

#2

"

"If r and s are odd positive integers. Which expression must also be an odd integer?"

Just let r=1 , s=3 (Or any other odd positive integer)

First, 3rs , 3(1)(3)=9 (Which is odd so A is the correct choice) If you tried all, all are wrong except A

#3

Graph it, then make a line going from up to down till it touches the same horizontal line as the other endpoint, and match it straightly.

Other method (Imo better)

(3-(-3))^2 + (2-(-6))^2

= 6^2+8^2= 36+64=100

sqrt(100)=10

answer is B 10

See the image below :

The equation of the hyperbola  is

x^2         y^2

____  -  _____   =     1

   3           1

a = √3

b  =  1

So

a / b    =  √3  / 1

isn't it point B...

because look at your x axis and y axis...

the way to figure this out is you move 7 units to the right on your x-axis and from there move 6 units up on your y axis,,, and you should get Point B....

hope this helped :)

thank you so much CPhill! <3

well not really, i asked my friend and she gave me this example...
hehe i know they're really ugly numbers

but when i did it i got like -0.4 for the y value and 5.2 for the x value for the midpoint, but i probably made careless calculation errors...

anywho...
thank you melody so much for your help <3 like actually i forgot how to do these completely :')

Thank you, Melody.  Coming from you it's quite a compliment.  I hope that the seed I planted about cancelling units takes root.  Once I grasped that concept, it helped me enormously.  Ron

Okay, first of all, there's something called spaces like what I'm using right now. It's that big rectangular button at the bottom of your keyboard.

Second of all, I think the question is asking "A $300 mountainbike is discounted by 30% and then discounted an additional 10% for shoppers who arrive before 5:00a.m. Find the sales price of the bicycle."

$300*(100%-30%) = $210.

$210*(100%-10%) = $189

The answer is $189.
