My opinion is that its not really urget, because on AOPS, if you don't know how to solve a problem they explain to you and try to get you to learn.

BRUTE FORCE YA YEET divisors of 500, lets list them

1 and 500

2 and 250

4 and 125

5 and 100

10 and 50

20 and 25

we get 25 and 20 next, which means that its just a repeated list, so the numbers above are the positive divisors.

Lets add them now.

1+2+4+5+10+20+500+250+125+100+50+25 = 1092

Lets prime factorize 1092

4 * 273

2² * 21 * 13

2² * 7 * 3 * 13

I think they meant "sum" as in actually adding all the lucky numbers together. So if you took every single lucky number that exists, and added them all together, you would get "S".

I do not remember ever having confusion over this.  I think it is normally self explanatory. 

Brackets/parentheses  take precedence over everthing else.

But I would think of 6! as an individual number.  So 5*6!   would mean 5 * the factorial of 6.

\(4^{3!}=4^6\\ 4^3!=64!\)

If that doesn't help maybe you can give us specific examples that are confusing you.

Let's assume that the letter starts with E, because that's what we're looking for.

There are four other letters, S, L, E, and P.

Since none of them are the same letter, we can simply do 4! and get 24.

NOTE:

Let's say the word was SEEEP.

SLEEP has 5 letters. 5! / 2! =60 permutations. Or 60 / 5 letters =12 for each letter. Since we have 2 of the same letter, then 2 x 12 = 24.
