Notice we can divide the parallelogram like this:

There are two triangles and one smaller parallelogram. The two triangles are the same, and each of their area's is 1/2*1*3=1/2*3=3/2. The parallelogram's area is 1*3=3. So the total area of this is 2(3/2)+3=3+3=6.

The angle of 9x+25 and 13x-19 are corresponding angles, and they are equal to each other. so we have:

9x+25=13x-19

4x=44

x=11

Now the angle of 13x-19 and 17y+5 are supplementary. We find 13x-19=13(11)-19=124. 

So 124+17y+5=180

17y+5=56

17y=51

y=3

So x=11, y=3.

ABN+NBC=ABC so we substitute the given values of each angle.

23x+63x+3=175

86x+3=175

86x=172

x=2

By similar triangles, PQ/FH = 2/7.

Speed of train = S
Speed of plane =4S - 20

200/S =700 / (4S - 20), solve for S

S = 40 km/h - train's speed
40*4 - 20 = 140 km/h - plane's speed.

From the sum of the AP, we can deduce the following:

First term =8,  and  Common difference = - 5

Nth term =F + (D * (N - 1))

                  =8 + (-5 * (N - 1))

                  =13 - 5N

With any two similar objects A and B 

If a pair of corresponding sides are in the ratio     \(l_A:l_B\)

then

Pairs of corresponding Surface areas will be in the ratio     \((l_A)^2:(l_B)^2\)

And for 3 dimensional objects the volumes will be in the ratio        \((l_A)^3:(l_B)^3\)

From equation 3       y = 5/3  -  2/3 z

From equation 1       x = 1/5 - 3/5 z             Substitute these values in equation 2  to solve for z

   then use equation 1 with this value of z to calc x     then equation 3 to calc y

cosine (39) = x/3

3 cos(39) = x    = ........ feet

I have had a quick look and I think 3 of them are correct. Only one seemed wrong.

What are your thoughts?

There are 2 obvious ways to tackle this.

1) You can do the algebraic division, which is really quite easy.

2) since it is multiple choice and all the remainders are different, you could just put

2x+3=0

so for this x= -3/2

Now sub x=-3/2 into the 2x^3+7x^2+2x+9  and you get the remainder that you need.

If cot x = 2, what is csc^2 x ?

\(csc^2\ x=cot^2\ x+1=2^2+1\)

\(csc^2\ x=5\)

2.)

If sin 2x = 21/25 and cos x > sin x, what is cos x - sin x

sin 2x = 21/25

2x=57.14°

x=28.57°

cos 28.57°> sin 28.57°

cos 28.57°- sin 28.57° = 0.87823 - 0,47823 = 0.4

3.)

What is the value of tan(arcsin(3/5) + arccos(-8/17))

tan(arcsin(3/5) + arccos(-8/17)) = - 0.46753

The two smaller semicircles make one full circle with a diameter of 8 cm.

So altogether we have a rectangle, a larger circle, and a smaller circle.

The total area is the sum of the areas of these three shapes.

So let's work on finding the area of each shape.

(Note that all areas will be in square cm)

area of larger circle   =   π ( radius )²   =   π ( 16 / 2  )²   =   π (  8  )²   =   64π

area of smaller circle   =   π ( radius )²   =   ...   (Can you finish this part? )

area of rectangle   =   length * height   =   16 * 8   =   128

Then add the three areas together to find the total area.

total area   =   area of rectangle  +  area of larger circle  +  area of smaller circle

total area   =   128   +   64π   +   ...   =   ?
