I coundn't ris losing 20minues of latex.

I did double check, didn't have to edit it though.

As for the bit where there is a - 

I got confused whether is was negative 6 or taking away 6.

At first i worked it out as a negative then it didn't work out...

Underneath each bracket collum i worked it out. 

I skiped all the workings and went to the final stage (because it's really long and I didn't want the latex to look messy).

If you want i can show my workings and how i got there in the next post - i don't mind!

In 6 games they scored 6 x 14.5  = 87 points

Start by multiplying both sides by 30.

That will get rid of all the fractions

What's wrong?

1681/4 is just the number represented as an integer ratio.  Divide 1681 by 4 and you get 420.25.  The calculator here often gives both integer-ratio and decimal representations when it can.

If 40 cows graze a field in 16 days....they perform 640 "cow days" of work.......so.....

In 10 days.....64 cows would be needed......because  64 x 10  = 640 "cow days"

Mathcad treats upper and lower case as indicating different variable names, but it doesn't make any assumption about which one should go where on a graph; it leaves that up to the user to decide.

I'd forgotten that the TI_NSpire uses := as well (I have the software-only version, not the physical calculator, and I don't use it very often).

Continuing from 2ab² - ac +bc -2b³   look at the first and last term: they can be factored as 2b²(a-b).  The other two terms can be factored as -c(a-b), so together we have 2b²(a-b) - c(a-b) which can be further factored as (a-b)(2b² - c).

a(2b^2-c)+b(c-2b^3)

=a*2b^2-a*c+b*c-b*2b^2

=2ab^2-ac+bc-2b^3

=2ab^2-2b^3-ac+bc

2ab^2-ac+bc-2b^3=a(2b^2-c)+b(c-2b^2)

now what?

Because of the sides given for the angle, we need sin().

sinx = Opp/Hyp

sin35 = 7/10

0.574 != 0.7

Because the sin() of the given angle is not equal to the opposite side length divided by the hypotenuse side length, we know the triangle is impossible.
