first you need to get rid of the +24 you can do that by taking it away but you must take it away from both sides to keep the eqation balanced.

Next you will need to get rid of the divide by 7 you do that by multiplying by 7  (both sides to keep the balance)

Then you will be finished.

Another quiet day.  Well it was Fri/Sat and from what I understand most of the U.S. students are on their long summer break, so what else can we expect?  Anyway I like it quiet.

10% is 1/10 

and if you want to finds one tenth of a whole number with zeros you just take the last zero away and throw it in the bin.

so

10% of 370000 = 37000       

If it's a right-angled isosceles triangle the angle is 45°.  If it's a non-right-angled triangle, for which you know all the sides, you can use the cosine rule:  cosA = (b² + c² - a²)/(2*b*c)  where a is the side opposite angle A, and b and c are the other two sides.

There are lots of answers.

k could be any even number.    ex  2,4,160, etc

k could be any multiple or power of x     ex 6x, 100x, x^2,

k could be any combination of the above.  ex  8x^3ytz

If you have a right angled triangle and all 3 sides you can find either of the missing angles using ANY of the inverse trigonometric ratios.

I do these a different way.  My way is perhaps more versatile because you can use it no matter how many terms are inside the brackets.

I take the 1st term in the first bracket and multiply it by the second bracket then

I take the 2nd term in the first bracket and mltiply it by the second bracket then

I can keep doing this until I run out of terms in the first bracket.

I am not sure what you mean by the inverse button.  

The 2nd is in the top left corner like it is with most calculators.

Perhaps you mean inverse trigonometry?

inverse sine is the same as arc sine.    So sin^-1 is the same as asin    

This is probably what you needed to know.

oh!im sorry for posting the answer again!i have just seen that Alan has answered this question becoz i was making mine till the time and so couldnt check that he has answered!But i hope no one minds becoz i too have helped !

So we'd do this like

To separate 252 we will first 

Add 5 and 2(the ratio numbers)  and then if we want to find 2 then we will do it like this 2/7 of 252 !we are dividing it by 7 snd multiplying by 252 becoz we want 2part of 7 of 252!And in the same way we will take out of 5 also !So we sould do it like this

2+5=7

Therefore

2/7 x 252 (now we will cut 7 and 252 and then multiply the answer by 2)

=2 x 36 

=72

Now we will use the same formula for 5

5/7 x 252 

=5 x 36 

=180 

So our numbers which add up to 252 are 72 and 180  (proof:72 + 180 - 252)

So the two parts of 252 are 72 and 180

There are 7 (= 2 + 5) segments in total, so 1 segment = 252/7 = 36.

This means 2 segments = 2*36 = 72 and 5 segments = 5*36 = 180.

So the two parts are 72 and 180.

Check:  72/180 = 2*36/(5*36) = 2/5,  and 72+180 = 252.

Rosala, this is just one of those silly 1+1 questions.  (x⁸/x⁸ = 1  and x⁰ = 1, so this is just 1 + 1).

I think the idea is to prove that the LHS (left-hand side) equals the RHS (right-hand side).

$$$$LHS = \sec^6 x - \tan^6 x$$
$$RHS = 1+3\tan^2 x +3\tan^4 x$$
\\
Divide $\sin^2 x + \cos^2 x = 1$ through by $\cos^2 x$ to get $\tan^2 x + 1 = \sec^2 x$ (remembering that $\sec x= 1/\cos x$)\\
So $\sec^6 x = (\sec^2 x)^3 = (\tan^2 x+1)^3 = \tan^6 x +3\tan^4 x + 3\tan^2 x + 1$\\\\
Therefore $$LHS = \tan^6 x +3\tan^4 x + 3\tan^2 x + 1 - \tan^6 x = 3\tan^4 x + 3\tan^2 x + 1 = RHS$$\\\\
