So you can see how much money you have!!. Suppose somebody leaves you an inheritance, and they stipulate that you should recieve an annual payment of $100,000 for your natural life. Now, you don't really know how much money you have. But, if you can find out what interest rate you get on your Trust Fund, then you can easily figure out how much money you have. So, if you knew you were getting 6% annual interest on your Fund, then you would divide your $100,000 by 6% =100,000 / .06 =$1,666,667.00.

That would be the PV of your Perpetual Annuity.

Note that the question asks for  y= (-2x^3)/(x^3+5)  not  y= (-2x^3)/(x^2+5)........!!!!!

Take the tangent inverse.......this is denonted as "arctan" or as tan^-1  on your calculator

So we have

tan^-1 (0.56) =  θ ≈   29.25°

y= (-2x^3)/(x^3+5)

I assume that you are referring to the "end" behavior.

Since the higest power on x in both numerator and denominator is the same, the end behavior will be determined by the ratio of the coefficients on these highest powers.

So we have    y =  -2 / 1   = -2

Thus.......as x increases without bound in both directions, the function approaches  y = -2

You are all confused. Look carefully at the question which says " consists of two letters followed by three digits". Example: AA111, if repeats are allowed. So, starting from the left: You can choose A out of 26 letters. The same with the second A from the left. Then, starting with 1, you have 10 choices from 0 - 9 to choose from. The same with the second and third 1's. So, as CPhill calculated, you have a total of: 26 x 26 x10 x10 x10 =676,000!!.

that doesn't really makes sense because 8187/16384 is slightly less than one half (ok then its 0.49969482421875) so the probability of guessing at least half of the questions correct is around 0.5? it may seem ok at first but... but... but... but...
